New shoes.

Well i’ve been very, very quiet on the modding front for the past 18month’s or so. That’s done to various reasons, main one being i’ve become a Dad to a beautiful little girl so the past 6 month’s i’ve been a little busy.

Back to the car’s. I used to have the white Audi S3 running on coil’s and Roti BLQ’s, but decided to be more sensible (And this was before we knew about the baby) and get a economical car. I’ve always liked BMW tourers, and in particular the E91. So a nice example 320d was the car i went searching for. After a few weeks finding the one i wanted with the right spec, i bought this standard E91 320d M-Sport in sparkling graphite.

I run around with it standard for a fair few month’s enjoying being able to go anywhere with no worries whatsoever. But eventually i got the bug for having a much more impractical car that didn’t like speed bumps and  other sticky out from the road type of things.

And now to bring the story right up to date i have just received my new, 1st set in the world Squared SD6′s. To add to this, i’ve been involved with Squared since the start with the owner Jon. So it was an obvious choice of what wheels to run, just a case of what design to have. Me and Jon threw about a few idea’s of what to run on my car, wether to run an existing set we already have on sale or to go all out with a fresh design. As you’ve probably guessed from the start of this paragraph we went for the new design idea.

As i’m static i wanted to get the fitment as flush as possible so not to poke and ruin my arches. With plenty of measuring up and researching i decided to run 19×9′s upfront and 19×11′s out back with nice low offsets too.IMG_0247-1

Once they arrived i had to have a test fit (They’re still un-finished here) immediately to see how they looked. To say i’m happy with the look is a massive understatement.IMG_0263-1

Now they are going off for finishing and will be getting tyres fitted when they’re back, then it’s getting them fitted on the car time.IMG_0281-1

Once that happen’s i will be updating on here with plenty more pic’s.

So that bring’s me up to date with a kind of a build on here. I’ll try and be more on the ball in the future and keep this little build up to date.

Until then check out Squared’s website and facebook. :)

Word’s and Pictures: Tony.

Starting again

Cheap car i said nothing major i said!.

So i had a change of heart and actually enjoying the S2000 over the winter months i am finding myself getting the s2000 ready for this years season.

First on the list was to remove the bent front passenger wing (That happened at our meet) and replace it with one that Tony got me from a scrapyard. Whilst i was at it i removed the driver side front and rolled both arches to prevent me creasing another arch. Above Adams new mk4 awaiting some shoes and some more touches!

With that all done it was on to the next few jobs and get the car ready for paint. This was meant to be a cheap build drop it on coilovers and some nice wheels i said (nothing like the Corsa) but now i am finding myself getting it ready for a full repaint!.

Cant wait to get this car back!

Home brew build.

We love a home build here at Rollhard, which is what we have here.

I noticed Adam’s first build a year or two back. It was a light blue Clio with cup bumpers, slightly lowered on team dynamics. It always stood out from the boring grey/black standard brigade you tend to see. My local area isnt known for its low/stanced cars so when the mx5 caught my eye one evening, I knew we had to find the owner and luckily for us it was Adam.

The car as you see it has been built by Adam himself on his driveway. A true talent as Adam has taught himself how to work on cars, by spending hours on forums researching, picking the right parts andfinding out the info on how to do things, and not sitting on Facebook asking randomer’s how to build his car for him. Which is seen way too often nowadays.

Some people would be happy with the resulting car we shot, But this is only the start for Adam. As most of us head off to Worthersee in Austria next week, Adam’s MX5 will be cruising upto japfest with its fresh new look, so keep your eyes peel’d. This is only the start of the journey for the mx5, And with Adam’s plans we cant wait to see it taken to the next level.

Also, it’s not often we enlist new members here at RollHard, but we welcome Adam and his mx5 into the Rollhard clan and look forward to seeing the mx5 progress. Stay tuned. :)

RollHard.

It’s been a while…

…since we last made a blog post. Also it was a fair old time when Ron’s emkaytwo was off the road after it spat it’s guts all over the motorway.

So we thought it would make for a nice comeback post with picture’s of Ron’s re-worked motor, and car to boot. All good things come to those who wait right?

The first change that you’ll notice as you walk up to the car are the lovely new red shoe’s it’s wearing. Which are a fairly uncommon (Fitment and width etc) set of comp’s which used to sit under the arches of Pea’s mk3 cab.

Yeh it’s static too. There’s been a hell of a lot of work put into this car to get it sitting like this and to be drivable too.

The man himself paying his biggest challenge some attention.

Which is what we show you now. While the engine was out getting re-built Ron thought he may aswell pay the engine bay some love, which added to the lengthy build. But we think the end product was well worth waiting for, all though he’s not quite happy with it and still has some tricks up his sleeve to make this complete.

So the emkaytwo returns to RollHard and we’re bloody happy about that. Well done Ron. :D
