Over here in the United Kingdom, we have our fair share of car shows that bring the best of the best out. There is one however that adds an extra sprinkle, Players Classic. Now into it's 11th year it's paved its way to be one of the most favorited weekends of the calendar,
The real enticement of a car is all the moving parts. Static cars allow you to admire their beautiful designs and details, but live action brings sound, speed and smell into the equation. This is the main reason for me that is Players is not just seen as a Show and Shine event, but one that displays cars in all their glory. The Players team take full advantage of the location being at the famous and prestigious Goodwood Motor Circuit and open the Track up to those who dare to brake as late as possible for Woodcote, slide through the Chicane and plant the throttle along the front straight in front of thousands of spectators.
Cars of all shapes and sizes, new and old grab a track pass. It certainly adds a uniqueness towards a special track day.
I usually use the Saturday to mainly shoot the track action all day, making a trip all the way round the circuit walking past Fordwater, St Mary's and Lavant but this year decided against it as I didn't to miss the lunchtime entertainment.
This year had quite the selection of cars and drivers.
This year was being lead by George Barclay in his 2JZ BMW Eurofighter. A mighty machine, and with Hoonigan in town he let Micah Diaz have ago.
Axel showed up with his rotary powered Corvette. Shipped over for Festival of Speed the following month, this was a good chance to put on an extra display and check the car over after transport.
Archie came along and smoked out the track in his Auto Finesse Datsun
Dave Bastian entered with some close runs to the wall in his AE86.
Last but not least, X Games medalist Liam Doran brought two of his cars along. His E92 M3 and the now well documented wheeling Auto Cross Mini Pickup.
After Lunch I carried on hanging around the Pit Straight and ventured up towards the chicane.
Saturday at Goodwood will always be a personal favourite. I will leave you below a full slideshow of every photo of the thrilling day.
